La Venida de CristoThe Coming of Christ
The Coming of Christ

God loves you, but even though God loves you, he cannot break his commandment: without holiness no one will see the Lord — and not everyone here is going. You are the one who has to get right with God.

I Jesús viene a buscar una iglesia santa Jesus is coming for a holy church
Jesus is coming for a holy church
There are those who say the Lord already came; there are others who go around saying the church will pass through the great tribulation; and there are others so tired of waiting for the Lord — because they have heard it for so many years: the Lord is coming, the Lord is coming, and nothing comes. But tonight we are going to prove in the word what God promised: to come for a church. But listen well — a holy church, a virgin church, but a virgin with her lamp full of oil; a church that does not live under the rudiments of the law but under grace; a church with the qualities our Master had, who died for us on the cross of Calvary; a church that loves the Lord as God loved us — God gave his life for his church.
The Bible says the church is the wife: she is called the bride, the wife, the adorned one. I always compare this to a marriage, because that is the way the Bible speaks of it. Nobody marries knowing that the person they are about to marry is out of their mind or is already unfaithful. And that is exactly how it is with us and Christ Jesus: God is coming for a holy church — not holy by its own personal credentials, because the Bible has said it: our works are like filthy rags. We have been sanctified through Christ, justified by him — but we must keep ourselves in holiness, because God called us to holiness and not to uncleanness.
God did not call us to get into the mud, nor to return to the vomit: God called us to live a holy life. And holy means separated — separated from the world, for God. We cannot live inside the church the way the world lives: you can look Christian, dress like a Christian, talk like a Christian and preach like a Christian — but at the hour of truth, you stay behind. An adorned church means as in the time of old: the virgin kept herself a virgin until the moment she came to the altar and married in white garments, symbolizing holiness. God is not going to marry a church that is wallowing in the world, in sin — though it praise him, though it come to church, though it give offerings, though it preach, though it work: if Christ arrives, it stays behind.
1 Tesalonicenses 4:7 — RV 1909
“For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”

II La mentira mancha la vestidura Lying stains the garment
Lying stains the garment
In these days we want to speak about the lie — because a church that lives under a lie is a church that stays behind. And when I say the church I am not speaking of one group only: I am speaking of the church in general. The Bible says that from the same fountain sweet water and bitter water cannot come out: you cannot be speaking truth and then speaking lies; I cannot be separated for God now and afterwards living for the world — I deceive myself. The Bible says we will be left in shame when he comes, because we went around talking about a Christ we knew but did not live for.
His blood cannot be trampled underfoot. You can trample it now if you wish — but there is judgment, and the worse judgment is for that man or woman who stays behind. The Bible speaks even of the eye: if it should make you sin, pluck it out — that is how deep the situation of evil is. But God has given the church the means not to contaminate itself and to keep itself pure for him: in the middle of its weakness it has strength in Christ Jesus. Paul spoke about this — my grace is sufficient for thee, for my power is made perfect in your weakness. That means there is no excuse for not serving God according to his word. Many times we sin with the thought: a man does not act physically first — before sinning physically he has been sinning with the mind. But the church has been washed with the blood of Christ, clean, sanctified, for when the bridegroom comes to marry the bride.
When you sin deceitfully, even with a lie, you deceive yourself — you cannot deceive God, even for economic gain. If you do it, you are dirtying your garment. When the roll is called up yonder, will your name be there? Or will it be as with the man who had a dream, and when he came before the angel they did not find his name? Search again — because my name has been written in the book of life. And they searched three times: it is not here. But in the dream a man appeared who said: stop the judgment for a moment — no fault is found in him; I am his advocate. That advocate was Jesus. The dream taught him very clearly that if he did not go to the advocate and repent, he would stay behind. It is not sin upon sin: on Sunday I go and get right, and I come back Monday and do the same — if Jesus arrives, you stay. On this earth there is nothing more beautiful, more precious, than the salvation which is Christ — that I should gamble with it for something earthly, stain my garment, lose my salvation for an earthly or carnal satisfaction.

III Las diez vírgenes: la misma mitad se queda The ten virgins: the same half stays behind
The ten virgins: the same half stays behind
Now is when we must reflect — and not reflect the way the five did. Look at what the Bible says about the ten virgins: that has not happened; it is something that is going to take place. Ten is the complete earthly number — the church of God is on the earth — and the Bible says five go and five stay. All ten come to church, all ten are Christians, all ten are virgins — but all ten are not wise. There are five in the vomit, five who are sleeping, five with dirty clothes, five who are blind; and there are five who have kept themselves for God, pure, holy, with their lamp full of oil, waiting for the bridegroom to come. Which of those five are you? In what category are you?
Within the church there are wheat and tares; there are wise virgins and foolish virgins. The same half is going to stay: that is why there are ten — five go, five stay; the same half of the church, of those who are Christians, dead and living. In which half are you? On the left is what is lost; on the right are the lambs — there is no in-between. The Bible says there will be two in the field: one will be taken and the other left; two sides in the same bed, husband and wife — my wife does not save me. I am saved by what I have done in Christ Jesus, and not by my works: if I sinned and live in sin, I am lost; but if I live in holiness, I am saved.
Christ has prepared a church and he is going to take it — and God gave the exact number. That is why there is a chorus that says that in Revelation John saw the number of the redeemed, of those who praised the Lord: John saw you. Were you one of them, of the redeemed, of those transformed with the same body of Christ — or will you stay with the same body, burning in hell? The Bible says there will be great and small before God: young people of an early age who were in church, sang, praised, took part — but dirtied their clothes; lady, gentleman, father, mother, grandmothers, grandfathers before the presence of God, waiting to go to hell because they dirtied their garment. Which one are you? Because the coming of Christ is as real as the day you lived today.

IV La iglesia no va a pasar por la gran tribulación The church will not pass through the great tribulation
The church will not pass through the great tribulation
The important thing about this is: are you prepared to go with him? There can be no wavering; you cannot say: I will leave it for another day, to get myself right. You must leave what must be left, and you must begin a holy life, separated for God. And a holy life does not mean thinking yourself greater than someone else: a holy life is loving your neighbor, seeking the lost, loving your enemy, doing good to the one who does me wrong; holding no grudge, no hatred, no anger, no quarrel, no gossip, no strife. A person who loves the Lord more than his own life — because the Bible says: if we live, we live unto him; and if we die, we die unto him. It is no longer I who live: Christ lives. One must deny himself in order to serve him.
There is a wedding being prepared in the heavens. Are you prepared to go to that wedding — or are you not invited? You can prepare yourself this very night: do not deceive yourself, and do not let the devil or the flesh deceive you. There are people who say: it is just that the things of the flesh please me so much, the world calls me, I do not know how to stop. Well — the ones who are going to pass through the great tribulation are the five foolish, the senseless, the ignorant ones. Some of you are going to see that; some are going to stand before the judgment throne of God; some are going to experience hell — and not because God wants it: because you want it. I do not want to be one of those. I want to be of the five with the lamp full of oil. The straw in the other man's eye does not worry me: what worries me is the beam in mine.
First Thessalonians, chapter 1, verse 10, says: and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath. The church is not going to pass through the great tribulation — because it will be as in the time of Noah: in Noah's time, God kept Noah's own from the flood. God will catch away his church from the day of wrath, and the five foolish will pass through it, but the five wise will not. Which five are you? You have to take your examination — and when I say examination I am not speaking of this physical body: I am speaking of a spiritual examination. The only way to fix your life is the altar.
1 Tesalonicenses 1:10 — RV 1909

V Sin santidad nadie verá al Señor Without holiness no one will see the Lord
Without holiness no one will see the Lord
Listen — maybe somewhere else they send you off to heaven. But the Bible tells me very clearly: if you do not keep his word and do not live in holiness, you stayed behind. I do not care who tells you something different. God loves you — but his word remains forever, and God does not have two mouths; and even though God loves you, God is not going to change his word for you or for me. I came to this church to go to heaven; I did not come here to bury myself in a hole in hell. If there is a weakness in me, I tell him: Lord, take it away — and when I ask him for strength, I get up and say: enough, it is over, I do not want to sin any more, I want to go with you. Paul said it very clearly in Corinthians: I did not come to call another and be disqualified myself — first I have to watch over myself, keeping a life in holiness.
Without holiness, it says in Hebrews, no one will see the Lord. If you are not holy — and holy means set apart for God from all uncleanness — you are not going to see him. Look at what First John, chapter 2, verse 28 says: and now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear we may have confidence at his coming, and not be ashamed before him. There will be many who will be left in shame: hey, you preached to me — and you stayed behind just like me. That is why the Bible says he would rather you be hot, but not lukewarm — because he is going to vomit you out of his mouth.
There are those who say: I love what I love so much that I am willing to go to hell. Well look — that is a crazy love. Let us see how many of those who are in hell would say that. The Bible says the rich man who was burning begged: allow me to go — even if I return from hell — to tell them to keep themselves for God and not come to this place, because this really is serious. And Abraham told him: they have the prophets, and Moses; if they will not hear them, they too will come here. And when he said here, it was not in Abraham's bosom, not in paradise: it is to hell. And what does that say to us tonight? If you are not holy and death surprises you tonight, or if Christ comes: you are going to pass through the great tribulation, and afterwards the judgment, and before the throne of God what awaits you is the lake of fire and brimstone. What is there on this earth worth going to that place for and losing the rapture — going with Christ in the cloud, body, soul, spirit and a holy heart?
1 Juan 2:28 — RV 1909

VI Sed santos, porque yo soy santo Be ye holy, for I am holy
Be ye holy, for I am holy
With that we close: First Peter, chapter 1, verses 15 and 16 — be ye holy, for I am holy. What is more: I am not going to explain any further. I believe the Bible itself is explaining things with those two verses. Let us stand tonight: Jesus is coming for a church — we have proven to you in the word that Jesus is coming — but Jesus is coming for a holy church. Do not deceive yourself: Christ loves you, but because Christ loves you does not mean Christ is going to break his commandment.
The Bible says in First John that God did not call us to sin; but if anyone sins, we have an advocate. If you confess your sin, it will be blotted out and cleansed — but the Bible also says, in Proverbs, that the one who forsakes it shall obtain mercy. It must be confessed and forsaken: it is not recognizing it and staying the same. With all of that God loves you; but even though God loves you, if you stay the same and do not live a holy life, you are lost. And I repeat what I said just now: not everyone here is going. I guarantee it to you tonight: not everyone here is going to go. There are many here who are going to pass through the great tribulation — may they change. This depends on you. You are the one who has to get right with God.
Lord, we thank you for your love, your mercy and your forgiveness, and for the privilege of being here tonight. Work with power and with glory: work in the young people, the ladies, the gentlemen, the adults, the ministers, evangelists, missionaries, laymen, deacons, officers, elders. Do not allow any to stay behind — you do not want anyone to stay, but each one has free will: you cannot force anyone here to serve you; it has to come from each heart. Your word has convicted our consciences in the condition we are in. I am going to do as you tell me: tonight I am going to open the altar. I do not open it on Fridays — but if anyone would like prayer tonight, the altar is open.

A tape recording from the 1997 era, transcribed word for word; because of the tape's age, the text preserves imperfections and recognition errors, uncorrected. The only lines removed are ones the transcription model hallucinated over music — '¡Gracias por ver el video!' during the opening minute of music and a repeated 'Primero es Juan' loop during singing — because they are not preached words. The recording contains no date: the date of the message is unknown; all that is known internally is that it was preached on a Friday night.
